Our first youth theatre groups are started in Barton Hill with support from Community at Heart
WALKING THE TIGHTROPE by Mike Kenny performs at Phladelphia International Children's Festival, and represents the UK at the ASSITEJ 14th World Congress in Seoul

We create SNOW MOUSE, our first co-production with the egg theatre, Bath. Our youth theatre's co-production with the Bristol Old Vic, A THOUSAND SEASONS PAST, is a site specific historical drama piece telling the stories of inhabitants of the Old Bristol Goal at Wapping Wharf. We take our first show to Edinburgh Fringe Festival, STRICTLY BALTI.
We embark on our first Libraries tour with THE MYSTERIOUS VANISHMENT OF POBBY & DINGAN.
We produce BARTON HILL FESTIVAL, a celebration of our local community developed through community consultation, with over 23 local organisations taking part. We secure 3 year funding from the Youth Investment Fund, to develop our young people's programme and launch new projects ACTIONSPEAK and OUTREACH.
We create IGLOO, a sensory experience for the very young, 0-3 years, as a co-production with Bristol Old Vic. Together we create a vibrant, welcoming space where every child gets a front row seat in Bristol Old Vic's Cooper's Loft.
After 9 years of delighting audiences from the West End to New York and Beijing, our award-winning show BOING! returns home to Bristol Old Vic at Christmas, running from 29 Nov 2019 - 5 Jan 2020.
Following the success of IGLOO at Bristol Old Vic in 2018, we remount the show in 2020 with a new cast, and embark on a national tour, performing at venues and community spaces around the country. At Christmas 2020, during the Covid-19 pandemic, we created an illustrated storybook based on Igloo to distribute to children and families in Bristol as a free gift.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, it was not possible to reach young people with our stories in traditional ways. In response, we created an exciting new digital story and free resource for primary schools to use in their classrooms - 17 & the Squeak Gobbler - which reached approximately 28,000 school children around the country. We also developed a new show, VIXEN, and toured this to schools in Autumn 2021 (once restrictions had eased).
In Spring, we toured VIXEN to venues around the country. In the autumn we returned to the rehearsal room to develop Belle and Sebastien - our Christmas collaboration with Bristol Old Vic, based on the classic children's story by Cécile Aubry about a six-year-old boy and his dog Belle, a Pyrenean Mountain Dog. This production was originally planned for December 2020, but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
We collaborated with Darlington's Theatre Hullabaloo to create a new dance theatre show, inspired by children’s own experiences during the pandemic. It combined contemporary dance and captivating storytelling to celebrate the power of imagination, and opened at Theatre Hullabaloo before touring to Bristol schools in June.
