Arts Day / Play in a Day / Play in a Week
These activities are a great way of creatively exploring topics in groups and supporting your curriculum.
Spend the day or a whole week exploring a poem, story or topic, using drama, music and movement. Pupils get to be creative, use their imaginations and perform to their peers. Use drama to broaden and enhance your curriculum.
"This is more than just enrichment; the opportunity to write, collaborate and perform builds determination and confidence." Headteacher
“Play in a Week made me feel more confident on stage, made me feel happy and I looked forward to going to school!” Pupil

Our impact in schools
Light Up School Learning
Our two-year Teacher Development Project aimed to develop arts-based teaching in Bristol's primary schools.
Funded by Paul Hamlyn Foundation, the project involved artists working alongside teachers from five of our partner schools. The independent evaluation found the use of drama-based activities improved pupils’ learning, and was used across all areas of the curriculum.
Teachers, artists and pupils reported improved confidence, oracy and wellbeing in pupils, as well as enhanced recall of knowledge and concepts.
To find out more, watch the video below and read our impact report.
Vixen - Impact Evaluation Findings
Vixen is a show that we toured to primary schools and community settings. Independent Evaluator Dr. Elaine Faull was commissioned to evaluate the impact on the pupils that experienced it.

Due to the launch of our new Arts Based Learning project, Light Up Language, unfortunately we are unable to provide Year 10 Work Experience placements this year.
Here are some other arts organisations who offer work experience opportunities, if you are interested in gaining experience in the arts industry: Bristol Old Vic, Knowle West Media Centre, RWA, Bristol Beacon and Watershed.
You may find further information and career insights from Bristol Works.
You could also join our mailing list and keep an eye on our website and social media for updates on other opportunities.
